Inside the Experience
If you're searching for a nostalgic culinary experience in El Paso, look no further than Peking Garden. Nestled at 1810 Trawood Dr, this restaurant isn't just another Chinese eatery; it's a cozy homage to the flavors and ambiance of traditional Chinese dining that many have cherished since childhood. The charming decor and comfortable setting evoke fond memories and create the perfect backdrop for a delightful meal.
One can’t visit Peking Garden without indulging in their exceptional egg flower soup or the flavorful shrimp egg foo young. The comforting richness of the soup paired with the lightness of the egg foo young paints a perfect picture of what many diners, such as Carolina Sandoval, describe as a true "throwback vibe." Each dish encapsulates authenticity, reminding patrons of meals from their youth that were lovingly served at family tables.
However, navigating the extensive menu - which boasts nearly 100 items - can present a challenge. As Paty Zavala noted, the menu's lack of descriptions leaves room for surprises. While this could be a minor hurdle, the journey of discovery often leads to delightful finds, like the Triple Delight, a wonderful mix of beef, shrimp, and chicken that tantalizes your taste buds.
For those who enjoy a good deal, the lunch specials are particularly noteworthy. Emily Mills raves about the value they offer, all while enjoying what she touts as the "BEST Hot and Sour soup in El Paso." Pairing this delicious soup with your meal is an unbeatable combination that won't leave your wallet feeling empty.
Notably, patrons consistently praise the generous portion sizes. Tim Chester highlights the large servings, perfect for leftovers, ensuring the experience continues well beyond your initial visit. Whether indulging in their savory orange chicken or the mouthwatering broccoli beef, diners relish the chance to bring a piece of Peking Garden home.
All in all, Peking Garden stands out not only for its delicious fare but also for its dedication to a genuine dining experience. With a warm atmosphere and a nostalgic touch, it invites guests to relax, savor each bite, and create new memories while revisiting old favorites. So whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot, a family dinner venue, or simply a place to enjoy high-quality Chinese cuisine, Peking Garden is sure to deliver satisfaction on all fronts. “ There’s a definite throw back to the Chinese restaurant if my childhood/adolescence. The art on the wall, the food on the menu and service are a whole throwback vibe. Had the egg flower soup, shrimp egg foo young and hot jasmine tea. Consider coming in for a causal lunch or dinner. ”
“ Good food. It's difficult to order when the menu only has the dish'es name, no description of what it is. I ordered the "Triple Delight". It was good, but I had no idea if what to expect other than an entree with beef, shrimp, and chicken... and there are almost 100 menu items to choose from! ”
“ I recently started eating Peking again. There was a time when the food suffered in quality and freshness but that seems to have passed. I truly only go for the lunch special. It's a great deal and includes an egg roll. I absolutely love the Hot and Sour soup and think it's the BEST in El Paso. For my lunch meal and a soup plus tip I pay $15. I don't really like eating there but I do enjoy the service when I order for pick up. They always include sauces and fortune cookies with your meal as well as utensils and napkins. I'm always happy with meal and typically have leftovers. As far as recommending a specific order I really enjoy the beef and broccoli as well as the sesame chicken. I usually ask for white rice not fried. And again HOT AND SOUR SOUP! ”
“ NO MILITARY DISCOUNT We visited on a recommendation from a friend. We very much enjoyed the food. The egg drop soup was very good! We had orange chicken, broccoli beef and chicken lomein. The portions were big enough for leftover lunch the next day. Overall, great food, good service and a dated interior, that was comfortable. ”
